Location : FARINA, Reports to: Branch Manager

Base Pay Range : $3750/mo -- $7100/ mo. ( Incentives per established scale) 

Education/Experience Requirements :

B.S. Degree in Agriculture or related field is preferred. An agricultural background with experience in agri-business, involving agronomy and the marketing of crop production inputs to current and new customers.

Job Requirements: 

Communication Skills : Ability to read, analyze and interpret common data. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to make effective written or verbal presentations to management, employees and customers.

Reasoning Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.

Technical Skills : CCA Certified or ability to obtain CCA and CDL. P.C Skills should include Microsoft, Excel, and Word.

Personal Skills : Applicant must possess a self motivating personality as well as team-building skills. Have ability to cold call on progressive farmers and develop detailed crop input plans. The ability to work effectively without direct supervision is essential. Ability to address objections from customers concerning all crops inputs.

Other Skills : The ability to gain a thorough working knowledge of our company software and commputer system. The ability to understand the company's stock/patronage structure.

Job Responsibilities :

•  Be able to explain the company's stock/patronage structure to customers.
•  Utilize the company's core software, and follow standard operating procedures associated with such software.
•  Responsible for calling on new customers in territory for the sales of seed and other crop inputs.
•  Assist Branch Manager and Crops Marketing Manager in developing a call list and marketing programs for Crop Salesmen, in order to grow and obtain new business.
•  Stay current with all changes in the agricultural industry and lead progressive changes in order to provide profitability to our customer base as well as stay ahead of the competition.
•  Have a good understanding and assist in the administration of all seed programs, be able to communicate those programs to sellers and growers.
•  Monitor seed inventory to provide a good balance of supply while staying within supplier return policies.
•  Assist in planting and harvesting test plots and side x side comparisons.
•  Assist and coordinate grower/seller educational touchpoints.

Applicant must have a good driving record and have or be able to obtain an Illinois commercial driver's license (CDL) with a Class A license and endorsements of T (doubles & triples) and X (tankers & Haz-mat).

Job Requirements :

Communication Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common data. Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, employees and management.

Technical Skills : Arc Welding and Torch Welding. Must be able to obtain and maintain a CDL license. Must have ability to read wiring schematics.

Working Conditions: While performing daily duties the employee will be working near moving mechanical equipment, in outside weather conditions, exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
